In 1976, K5RC, K5MA and K7BV decided we needed a convention of contesters in Houston. The first event was the TACO Convention of 1976. From that was spawned Houston Ham Conventions, which sponsored ARRL Texas State conventions culminating with the 1983 ARRL National Convention.
