During my first year of college, my part time job was building Amplidyne Labs transmitters and receiving converters in the basement of K2SWI’s house. We became avid VHF Contesters.
Mario, K2MUB, kept me challenged chasing DX. 55 years later, he is still ahead of me on the DXCC Honor Roll. His son (yellow shirt) is now K2MUC. My son, Troy, on the floor, never developed an interest in ham radio.
