In 1964, K5LZO and I became the first Americans ever to get permission to operate from Tahiti. We spent a month there as FP8CB/FO8. In those days, Chuck was able to get the FP8CB call in St. Pierre through graft and knowing the son of the French Ambassador. Hubert was also responsible for us getting permission to operate at FO8.
